Terms & Conditions
Please ensure you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions before booking any of our classes.
By booking or attending a session, class or workshop and by using any of our services you are deemed to have read, understood and accepted the Terms and Conditions. It is your responsibility to inform us in advance of any allergies or special requirements.
Safety guidelines
Health and safety
Students should be aware of the risks of working with sharp tools, chemicals, and high temperatures.
Clothing
Students should wear comfortable, flat shoes with non-slip soles, and clothing that they don’t mind getting dirty.
Jewellery
Students should leave jewellery and watches at home.
Hair
Students should tie back long hair, especially when using the potter’s wheel.
Food and drinks
Students should not eat food in the studio, and should only drink from lidded cups.
Pottery making
You will be asked to mark your pieces with your initials, which the teacher will communicate to you during the class. This is so we can identify who each piece belongs to and efficiently plan and run the kiln firings.
Anna Stiles Pottery accepts no liability for any injury suffered by any student on the Studio premises or outside the Studio.
Equipment use policies
Students should not use equipment unless they have been shown how to use it.
Students should not open or interfere with kilns or firing schedules.
Cancellation fees
- The studio reserves the right to cancel any sessions due to illness or other reasons pertaining to the safe running of the pottery studio – such as a power cut. Individuals booked onto a cancelled course will be given the option of a full refund or of rescheduling to a future course date if available. The Studio will not be liable for any losses or expenses arising from amendments to the course or cancellations.
- All payments should be made in full at the time of booking. We cannot confirm your place until we receive full payment.
- Refunds are not available on gift voucher purchases nor can these be exchanged for cash. Gift vouchers are transferable, so if you are unable to make your course, you may contact us to discuss an alternative.
Collection of student work
- We encourage all students to take their work away with them, however, if students choose to have a small selection of their pieces fired at the studio there will be a small firing charge.
- If students are unable to return to the studio to collect their fired pieces, we may be able to post them to you.
- All pieces will be weighed, and any firing charges will be applied.
- We charge a standard administration rate of £20 to post out any work on top of the firing charges (this covers packaging and staff time to prepare the pieces).
- We will be able to give you an estimation of cost once the pieces have been packaged and the parcel has been weighed.
- Anna Stiles Pottery will package each piece as carefully as possible, but we cannot be held responsible for any damage caused during shipping.
- Pieces that are not collected within 8 weeks of the date they have been made will be disposed of as workshop storage space is limited.
Personal possessions
We do not accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal possessions and recommend leaving valuables at home.
